Colloquium Description:

No prior knowledge of chemistry required! Students will explore a few principles of acid/base chemistry while designing a pattern and then constructing a collage of silk. At the end of the project students will present their collage and research on an aspect of the silk dyeing process that interests them. A field trip to the Art Institute of Chicago will be taken.
