Facing Discrimination

This class is designed for students to be aware of discriminations that exist in our society. The course will examine the history existing discriminations and will allow the student to scrutinize the media's role, which sometimes encourage these discriminations. The objective for this class is for students to become better educated on how societal problems in the past, like discrimination, can change beginning with individual efforts. The class will involve role playing, examining pop culture (music videos, movies, musical lyrics, art), guest speakers and field trips.
