Changing Land, Changing People

This workshop combines history, geography, drama, and science as participants explore the changing natureof human and environmental interaction with the environment throughtime. Students will be involved with the development of an educationalpark at the Chicago end of the historic Illinois and Michigan Canal.Activities include map reading, ecological testing, and a re-enactmentof the lives of people who have lived along the banks of the Chicago River. Participants will keep a journal and develop a portfolio containing their research, odservations, and Reflections.
